Hah! Today finally went for an ashtanga class. I am not a big fan of ashtanga yoga as it is mostly repetitive, same poses again and again… to me it’s always well, *yawn* Anyway I had to go for this one as I was in the vicintiy of the yoga studio plus the teacher who is teaching is whom I have attended her class before.

When I reached the class, I was the only one! The teacher was suprised but nonetheless said great, one on one and proceeded to explain more on Ashtanga Yoga and where it came from :

Ashtanga yoga was created by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois from Mysore. It is also known as “eight-limbed yoga” or that this sequence of yoga poses which includes the 8 yamas of yoga. When you move through the poses, you must connect with your breathing.

And just as we start the class, another lady came into the class. Phew… company… at least the class will not be so boring. :)

It really was a great class as the teacher has time to help each one of us in the poses we are weak in. She adjusted almost all my poses and it was great. Especially the binding poses which she helped me go into.

I think I will definitely try to go for class again same time next week so that I will have more help! yippeee!
