Another Ashtanga Class

Oh yeah.

Yesterday I went for another ashtanga class. This time by another great teacher. He was highly recommended by another of my yoga buddies. The teacher was really humorous and you can tell he really enjoyed teaching the class. This was an ashtanga LED class, meaning teacher will led you through the poses in the primary series and other poses that he can fit in. He was incredible, he did all the poses in the primary series and also included headstand, shoulderstand etc. So far all the ashtanga classes I have been to, can only cover up to the basic primary series.

It was fun too, as he teaches us how to kick back into chaturanga for the vinyasa from each pose. Fun! Cant do it well like teacher but hey, it’s fun!

Yes, I tried the headstand again. This time I tried with both legs straight. It was tough to lift but I managed it…er… for one time… after that, I was tired. But it really was easier than doing it the bent legs and then slowly lift up. I think I really need to sharpen my sense of balance. I have poor upside down balancing sense… I wonder when my body will be ready.

Aside from yoga, I went to the department store and they had this fantastic weighing machine. Super duper machine that can measure not only yr weight, but gives you yr bone mass, water %, fat % etc in your body. It can even calculate your body age based on your age, height etc For me, my body age was 26! yeah! Btw I am already in my thirties ( I don’t look like one though… haha ) So for the rest of that day, I was a happy little bird!

OK, back to yoga… I finally signed up for the class with Desiree tomorrow. I am so excited! Backbends and arm balancing are focused in her workshop. Can’t wait for that!
