If you are an avid yogi or yogini, you probably would have at least know about this magazine.
This is my favourite read ( other than my self improvement books… yes, I am a self improvement book junkie too! ) every month.
Sometimes when the local store had it come in in batches and I had to wait as the first batch was already sold out, it was pretty anxious and somewhat fearful wait that the store might not bring it in at all! *gasp* But as always, yoga buddies are great people. I had a yoga buddy who knew that I did not get a copy, had saw an available copy elsewhere and immediately bought it on my behalf. Cool eh?
Just one day without yoga and in today’s class my body was going “creaking” and like major adjustment.
Not only that I find I am more stressful than usual. Why? It is probably not good to be too reliant on anything, yes, even yoga.
Today’s class was full of twisting. I hope this much twisting will twist away some more of the stubborn fats at the abs area, haha ![]()
Kinda miss the handstand though… ( i cant believe I just said that )
hmmm…
This is one of the most difficult pose to me.
However today I had a surprise that my quads have strenghtened much as I found that it was much easier for me to go down from standing with a half lotus down into a squat. I do find this amazing… yoga improves one’d body without one knowing until you return to the same pose after many moons. Next target : now I just have to learn how to balance with one hand on the floor while in the squat. Usually from this pose, the teacher will ask us to move our hands back to the front and then slowly straighten the squating leg and come into a half lotus forward bend. Then following to place the half lotus leg across the the arms, with the foot hooked on to one side of the triceps and the knee on the other arm’s tricep. From here, squeeze the half lotus leg into the arms and try to lift the back leg. The final pose will be to lift the standing leg and straighten out behind.
Yes, today the yoga teacher was saying that handstands make people happy!
With blood rushing to the head, it is probably hard not to.
So she says, everytime you need that spurt of energy or you wanna feel happy, do a happy handstand!
Well today, we did 3 sets of 5 breaths handstands and a final one minute handstand. I am drowning in happiness I tell you. Probably also that I can now consistently kick up into a handstand against the wall.
I love attending this teacher’s class. She always emphasise after each pose to feel what your body is like, the difference, how does it feel. You will be surprised that your body can “talk” to you, feedback to you what it needs or what it is capable of. But of course you have to listen intently and respect your body.
