Do you sometimes get that feeling that the yoga class is not the same? There is some energy or something missing?

I had this feeling today in class… then I realised why… my best yoga buddy was not in town, she went overseas. Funny huh? She has that energy that lifts the class up, i think this is what teacher says about inner bright. She has that. A wonderful person with a bright sincere smile that touches people. No pretense. :) Miss her voice in the class during our pre-class chants, her laughter and her inspirational poses. This really reminds me that we often took people for granted in our life. Like your family and your friends. I must really try to spend more time with people I care about.

A question recently came to my mind with regards to food and yoga. Many yoga practitioners avocates going vegetarian.

Is vegetarian the eventual way to go for yoga practioners?

For me, I do not think I can be a vegetarian for real. I love my meat too much to completely give it totally up. I have actually given up pork and any related pig stuff. ( yeah, no bacon, no pork knuckles, plus no tons of chinese local food for me either ) Now I am giving up my next meat : Duck and Mutton. These 2 meats are not really my favourite in the first place.

I went to a inversion class today. In the class, there were 2 groups, 1 group is the beginners and the other group is the “advanced”. Me being the “in-between” was at the “advanced” side. So as the teacher goes around helping each of us in the advanced group, I was stealing looks at the beginner group. I remembering how hard it was for me when I just started. Body is just so heavy to kick up etc. Seeing them attempt again and again had me wanting to go over and to tell them that it’s ok, we will all get it eventually. I want to tell them that I started from there too. And worked my way slowly but steadily. There is no perfect pose, there is always another more difficult pose and more challenging sequences. However, what matters most is what you learn out of the whole experience of trying it.

Yeeks… camel droppings, pigeon droppings… nope I am not talking about poo poo from animals.

Dropbacks in yoga. Some of us are obsessed with droppings. But I am not… why? Cos I am more obsessed with my headstand. yes, that pose which has yet to “arrived” for me…

However, my droppings are here… *grin*
