There is a new class at one of the studio called Yin and Yang yoga. Out of curiosity, I decided to give it a try since it is taught by one of the local teachers.

Interestingly, when I stepped into the class, I was greeted with incense burning which was a nice touch that this studio never had for other teachers. She also had alot of colourful pillows laying around. This gives the darkened studio a serene surreal kinda feeling.

Essentially not much “yang” in the class, but more like an hour of yin yoga.

In chinese, “yang” means male or sun energy. Hence yang is more of muscular energy. “Yin” on the other hand is female or lunar energy. Hence in yoga, yin is not to use the muscles in the poses, rather allow the body to go into the pose by way of gravity.

Actually the class is just a yin class. I wonder where is the yang. Easy and relaxing one.

Good break for body!
