Kapotasana or Pigeon pose. This is an intense backbend pose and opens up your chest fully.
Here is a picture of the pose from Yoga Journal Cool?
I have been practising using the beginner’s way for quite sometime now. And I have seen gradual improvement every time I do it. Slowly but surely… as I told alot of myfriends, one day!!
Beginners way :
1. Go into Supta Virasana. See pose. Note: make sure you hug your thighs towards the center. Also make sure your both feet has the toes straight pointed backwards.
2. Place your hand besides your ears like your hands when you are going to Urdhva Dhanurasana (or Wheel pose)
Utthita Trikonasana or Triangle Pose
See Pose.
Points to note:
1. Keep your feet strongly planted on the floor.
2. Engage your legs. Keep your legs externally rotated as if you are pulling the legs towards each other to the middle.
3. Energise your arms and hands too. Press the hand on the floor from your heart. The top hand is also energised and pulled back into the shoulders and yet extended.
4. Tuck your tailbone strongly. You may lean forward first to create space in between your hips/groins and then tuck your tailbone.
What is Power Yoga classes without any arm balancing poses?
We did this crow pose and then we had to bring one of the leg from the arm to the chest… Ya right… I think I need another 6 more months…
Anyway I just found a music video by Utada Hikaru, one of my favourite japanese singer. She has just released a new song for the new Hanayori Dango 2 called “Flavor Of Life”. Nice!
