Getting back to the regular classes was not as hard as I thought. The long break was good. The flu break was probably even better.
Today’s class was good. Feels good. Saw most of the familiar smiling faces. I was again back to usual almost late for class fare and ended up right in front of the class again. I am still gingering not trying to over stress the body ( still got me a throaty cough ) and thus gleefully avoided some of the inversions.
We did a lot of partner work today in class. This was probably due to the large number of people in class. Elena was my “lab partner”…
Well, well… I finally got a touch down with my “wild thing” pose. I have never got the guts to touch my hands down ever since after the 2 very first attempts in my early yoga life that ended me with a big bump on the top of my head. It’s pretty painful, ok… that sorta put me off that pose ever since. I can touch the floor but never quite landed my hand…
“Wild Thing” is simply the flow whereby in downward dog, move into three legged down dog with one leg lifted high, then bending the lifted leg, opening the hip more and then dropping the lifted leg behind and the whole body “flipped” over and then finally with the pose ending as a wheel. Basically “flipping” yourself from down dog to a wheel pose.
Well, today one side has finally landed with help from dear Elena. The other not quite but should be pretty ok.
I can’t wait to test out if I can do it on my own again tomorrow… weeee….

Hi Doray!
Yey for us! *HI FIVE BACK*
Ya… for me the problem is the fear of hitting my head yet again on the floor. Today I did not dare to do it again… but my fingers did touch the floor.. heeee.. just that I am very hestitant in landing the weight on the hand…
We just need more practice!
