Just elated to be back to practice yoga. Despite a cough ( with phlegm ), heavy traffic condition and a heavy rain, I sneaked off to a yoga class yesterday. That is the power of the mind. When you have made up your mind what you want to do, you just have to do it.

As I go through the practice, I was humbled and reminded yet again by the importance of one’s breath during practice. Without breath, ( I was breathing half the time through my mouth… WRONG!! ) the flow and movement through the Power Yoga was in “stutters”. Plus the body strength used was much more than what usually was needed.

In fact, during the inversion session where we do all the fun handstands and pincha, I sat those out. Without proper breathing, it is going to be be more tough for the body to go up ( thought I think I could have just done it anyway… but I do want to recover fast ). I used that moment as I sat, to watch and be inspired by those who can do it so well and to root for those who tried hard!

*coughs*

It’s just feel great to be back! Plus I have a mission next weekend… I am going for rock climbing training!!! So I really have to train up my strength and flexibility after my long break and sick leave!

BTW, my nagging weird pain in my thigh seems to have disappeared! But I was still pretty cautious… I can go back to my Hanumanasana on one side ( of which I carefully and gingerly edge myself into ).. I am satisfied for now… this was perhaps a good long break afterall! :)
