I guessed my body just had had it. It revolted starting on Monday with a violent cold, runny nose that eventually depleted my home of tissue paper or anything that I can drip on… ( eeks… ) On Tuesday, the runny nose “evolved” into a nasty cough. But I am thankful that it did not bring about a sore throat. Coughs and a little stuffy nose surely can’t kill anyone right? So I still pushed on, working until late at night ( but I did take a break from Yoga as I know my runny nose, coughing definitely will do nobody any good… but my dog just have to bear with me though…
)
On Wednesday, my body decided to give a final warning. Yes, I woke up with a cold with achey arms and legs. And yet, I thought maybe just a thing with the cough/cold, it will probably pass. But NO…. body says “I want rest”… so it “threw a tantrum”… gave me a fever of 38.9 degrees celsius. And so I relented… I went into “coma” state as in I slept and slept. Waking up only to guzzle on water plus tons of Chinese herbal drink (cooling types which brought my temperature down quite a bit) and to check my temperature. The fever went down by evening but a severe headache came along.
Today, after more than 18 hours of sleep, my fever gone, headache gone and runny nose gone. However my cough still persist, though much better now… but occasionally still coughing out a nasty bit of a phlegm ( yellow thick ones… arrrgh… sorry for the description… ). Chinese believed that if the phlegm coughed out is yellow, the person is heaty (or too much heat in the body which caused the fever). Thus the need to take “cooling” stuff like herbal drinks to balance the body ( read : ying and yang of body ) My phlegm is of a lighter color compared to yesterday and hence the heat in my body is clearing up.
I can’t wait to hop back into class… I lost 2kg during these 4 days… I need an energy booster and a mind booster and that means yoga….
