Life Is About Changes, So Is Yoga…

Nothing is constant. Even a simple yoga pose is not constant. Every yoga pose is constantly “in motion” when we breathe and the body move with your breath ( even in subtly ). And every wonderful yoga pose is a manifestation of your body expressing itself. I always loved Anusara yoga as it is about love and grace ( anusara means grace… and one day I hope to study under John Friend! :) ).

When I am in a yoga pose, I have to be present. What this means to me is to be aware of your body, every part of your body in the yoga pose… Even the pinkie toes! Not that I did not know this but I have never been more aware of this fact until now.

This is growth. This is a change. A good change.

Something is always changing. Either something moves forward or it moves backward.

Yesterday I moved forward a tiny bit in my headstand, as I sneaked in a couple of headstands while doing some handstands during class. I did one time with my leg lifted up with full control and met with the other leg without touching the wall. I balanced for a whopping 3 seconds. Weeee!

Today I moved forward in trying something I never tried before. Going to Kapotasana (rollover here to view pose) from Ustrasana ( or Camel pose ). I have always done it from Suptavajrasana ( incline hero’s pose ) and by lifting the hip and moving the head inch by inch to the feet during Bo’s class. But today, I just did it by slowly moving from the camel with hands in namaste until the head touched the floor. Sure, it was scary but I realized that before I did it, I have a picture in my mind that I was doing it and I told myself, this should be no problem.

Now, I just have to get my elbows totally on the floor…

Life’s little victories. :)
