After being stuck with a bad cold and cough for 1 week and missing more yoga lessons than I would like to, I am still struggling with the blocked nose. Seems like the cold is sloooowly going away… added to the fact that I am having giddy spells again. Maybe I am having low blood pressure? or maybe is because the lack of protein in my diet? Yep, maybe that’s it… now I am trying to turn to vegetarism… have stayed cleared from meat for the past 2 days… but I wonder how long will I last? I am preparing myself for lower food intake so as to do some detox. Perhaps my body is like Ana Forrest’s who needs to eat meat to get certain minerals for her body ( according to one of yogi-friend ). Hmmm…. Will stick it out and see how my body reacts. I have been wanting to try the lemon juice detox too… maybe can get lemons and drink up on that to help the cold too.
Yesterday was a pig out day for me at the Melt restaurant ( Oriental Hotel). Food is not bad but the sad thing is that I have a blocked nose and I practically cannot taste… everything taste the same to me… bland… I could only enjoy the texture of the food. Poor me, I had to get my friends to tell me how the food taste!
Here are some photos I took from Melt :
Today’s Anusara yoga class was nothing short of more revelation. As Bo said, even at his level, every time he practices and when he does all the alignment, spiraling and loops ( all anusara terms ), he always learn something new about himself, his muscles… always learning => growth!
Today Bo did a very basic class. But I really learnt a number of new things from the class. Very insightful for me. He was revisiting the basic anusara yoga’s principles of spiraling and the different loops ( me still quite confused about the loops ( kidney loop, skull loop, ankle loop, pelvic loop? but the spiraling of muscles are now more clear ).

I have been down with cough and cold, yet again. I think it was a flu… It started on Monday with a bad cough and then on Tuesday it was a full fledged running nose and probably a fever as I was feeling extremely cold and I could feel the aching in the bones.
And yet again, I was considering to go for yoga. I thought maybe it can help cure or get rid of the coughing or the running nose. Maybe even go try out a new teacher’s hot class… But the thought of dripping nose mucus and incessant coughing did not appeal to me and I knew if I went, I would probably spread the virus to half the class. Not quite nice…

Taking a break in the middle of your workout may metabolize more fat than exercising without stopping, according to a recent study in Japan. Researchers conducted the first known study to compare these two exercise methods exercising continually in one long bout versus breaking up the same workout with a rest period. The findings could change the way we approach exercise. [click link for full article]
