No I am not turning into a cow with the vegetarism… :P

cow face
Rather I finally managed to go into Cowface ( Gomukhasana- see pose ) one side by myself and one side with help from Bo. After that class, the next day my shoulders and biceps area was aching for two days.

Well, that ache was probably a good thing…. because for the first time in my entire yoga journey, I finally managed to bind in the Ardha Matsyendrasana ( see pose ) ! For a very long time, I cannot bind, for some reasons, my rotation of shoulders do not allow me to do the binding or reverse namaste ( painful wrists ) or any pose that requires some rotation of the shoulders.

Do you think you are a yoga snob? Seriously, I think I would be, because I only go for certain teachers’ classes…

Here’s the result of the quiz that I took :

I’m a Hippie Yogi!

A Hippie Yogi

When you’re not doing yoga or marching in protests, you divide your time between
hugging trees and flashing peace signs at people you don’t know. You truly
care about the world around you and take action to make it a better place for
everyone to enjoy–including your furry friends. You’re warm, welcoming,
and a lot of fun.

Be careful, however, not to let your dedication to your cause alone determine your
actions–take time for yourself every now and then, too. Everything in moderation
will make you more balanced in your yoga practice and in your life.

Food for thought… hmmm… my food for thought today… ( an alternative from vegetarian food…)

Bo says that *correction* –> not his spiritual teacher, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda ( see Siddha Yoga meditation ) but Tony Briggs; thanks for the correction, Bo! *end* said that. What it means or from what I gather is that in each and every yoga pose we do, we observe and do not make any unnecessary commentary in your mind. You know, like if you are doing a long 2 minutes handstand for instance, do not think “my shoulders are hurting”, “pain pain pain”, “so long?”, “how come that girl can do better?”… instead we become more aware of our own body… be in.

It has been a week since I did any headstand. Now that my neck strain recovered from the left and right pain, the pain has crept down onto the middle of the back neck on the right side. I went for 2 yoga class while still nursing this pain but I skipped out all the inversions and shoulder stands. It probably seemed to the yoga teacher that I am having my “moon cycle”… :P

Perhaps it is time to look for a chinese sinseh to “iron” out the final kinks in the neck or just lay low on yoga?

Do you ever get that irritating neck strain in the morning after you get up? I did on Tuesday morning. It was a very long time ago that I had one. In fact ever since I started yoga, I never did get such severe neck strain until Tuesday. It’s those type that when you cannot even turn to the side and you had to move your entire to that side. Must be the pillow….time to get a templur pillow perhaps?
