It had been so long since I tried the traditional indian yoga class. Since heeboon has gone for holiday (lucky him!), a new teacher was brought in to teach his class. He teaches the very traditional indian yoga. Very much he will just do the pose and you have to follow. Not much of verbal instructions on alignment. He was very soft spoken and even the people on the first row had problem hearing him. Plus his accent made it worst. It was an ok. It reminded me of the previous indian yoga classes that I have been to with all the stretching exercises in the start.

Somehow I have a feeling that my yoga practice somewhat hit a “plateau”… in spirit… It’s like a lot of happenings in my life, in other people’s lives around you, the friends that come and go… somehow I stopped reading about yoga. I forgot to “love yoga” as it should be loved.

I used to be so passionate about yoga that I go for 3 classes a day and crave for knowledge, reading through magazines, books and more books. But now, life took over and I had forgotten the joy of yoga, finding myself in yoga.

How many days has it being since I become vegetarian? I really lost count…

Ok, I admit it. I took a little meat here and there. Had another piece of fish cake. And a fish burger. The day before, I ate chicken rice. :P But I also resisted 6 pieces of tempting chicken nuggets. Sometimes when you are outside, it is very hard not to eat meat at food stalls and fast food joints. Like yesterday, I was staring at the McDonald‘s menu. I think there is no full meal that is vegetarian. Sure you can eat the fries, the side salad, desserts ( apple pie, ice cream, apple dips ) but why no veggie burger? Burger King is no better either. Maybe you can eat the onion rings.

Today’s Anusara yoga class was a blast! Plenty of inversions and it include a long long headstand. :)

We did various inversions each holding for 2 minutes! It was tough and tiring… First we started with the normal vinyasas and then we started with a handstand against the wall. I tried my best to “hang” upside down… the first minute was easy but the shoulders start to get heavy and the ache starts to creep in… the second minute halfway, my arms and shoulders were burning… like Bo says… keep the flame alive… er… both arms and shoulders on FIRE!!!! I just had to get down.

Incredible as it seems, I just got kicked in my head while in yoga class.

And sure enough a big dark swelling on my head appeared. It was as big as a ping pong ball… I had to use my hair to cover it…
