It always great when you practice hard and then go for a great meal with a bunch of good friends.

Always.

And I am really very lucky!

Today I went for “Garfield” yoga. :)

A dear yogi friend is going to start teaching yoga soon! He is most humble, kind and supporting soul and I think would be a terrific teacher of great empathy and patience. His yoga practice is awesome and he is always passionate about yoga, always learning and sharing. I personally think the latter qualities are definite markings of a good if not great teacher.

He started the class with a theme. The theme was about flexibility and being grounded. Sometimes when one is too flexible, one tends to forget to be stable, grounded, a foundation of strength. We started with a round of pranayama followed by the traditional moon salutations. I think moon salutation ( or its variations ) is graceful as well as full of strength…

Even though this was probably his first class teaching, I think he did pretty well. His voice was soft but assuring and clear. He went around helping each one in the asanas. Of course, as usual I had requested to do headstand :P

Then we ended the class with some meditation as well as…. FOOD! Thai food. Being a thai, he did a mean Tom Yum soup ( soooooo spicy hot and good ), a variation of pad thai with pasta, yummy thai popiah as well as his new take on a deep fried ice cream. All sooo good!
