Body Behaving Badly…

Sometimes the body just want to do its “own thing”.

Mine just did. Behaving badly. Like a spoilt brat…

First, the muscle behind the neck seems to be strained. Not a result of yoga mind you… ( injury is never caused by yoga… but by ego… :) ) It was just a case of “bad, bad, BAD” pillow or that you got out of the wrong side of bed. Luckily I was still able to turn my head normally but it was a nagging muscle strain, pull, irritant that had me rolling and turning my head the whole day long… trying to some how perhaps get a “click” to release the knotted muscle?

It did not help. But the decision to go for 2 yoga classes might have helped. I guess the stretches and the activation of various shoulder muscles did help in the relief. But of course, one need to take extra care when you are having an injury when doing certain poses that might further aggravate the injury. It’s better to be safe than to be sorry!

And when I thought the neck was finally “behaving”, the entire body just refuses to coorporate in class today. Hips were tight, hamstrings were lazy, back was stiff,… not a good day for yoga.

It was just one of those days when the body just play truant.

But body will be back… ! :) Just need some kick butt beauty shut eye with a nice fluffy pillow!

PS. Looking forward to Patrick’s classes this weekend! I really missed Anusara yoga!
