Almost Christmas…

As the end of the year draws near yet again, one wonders why time whizzes past you so fast… unbelievable.

Looking back, what have progress have I made? What insights did I have?

One of the most important thing or lesson I’ve learnt is that you cannot control others. The only one you can control is yourself. Other than that, it is entirely beyond your control.

One example is when something that you did not want happen, it happen to you. It usually does. But whether that something is considered a good thing or bad thing is entirely up to you at the point it happened. I do think that if you keep harping on the negative side of things, it will bring you down and everything will look sad. Whether you think good or bad thoughts which is under your control, life will still carry on, birds will still sing and frogs will still, well, croak or whatever that they do…

So yoga is something I can do and can control. So I am quite glad that I got into yoga and it has helped not only physically but also mentally. But this year was pretty rough for my yoga practice as there was simply no qualified Anusara teachers. Plus with all the “politics and business” in the yoga arena, it was really pretty disheartening at times.

But still I improved in tiny bits and pieces. Surprisingly I improved much on my arm balances which I never did really wanted to improve on. Of course, then there is my headstand which is taking forever. I am now pretty much confident in balancing in full headstand with wall ( not long )… without wall – only stage 1 with the knees to chest.

duh… looks like more work needed…

This is the first time I’ve read your blog, but I was encouraged to find it! I have been trying to make yoga more a part of my life (and my children’s lives) for most of 2008- so it’s nice to come across the occasional yoga focused blog.

I hope you don’t mind me adding you to my list to read, I will definitely be checking in again. And congrats on those arm-stands! I still can’t do those!

Hi M, thanks! I think yoga is great for each one of us as an opportunity to look within self, to learn more about yourself and hence making yourself more available to all who love you.

Hope you can come back here to share more about your experiences with yoga!

    namaste!
