Beautiful.
Today’s class was a level 1 Power class. However, the moves are most graceful when the teacher integrates some taiji moves into yoga. A test of core muscles when you move ( or try to… ) gracefully or flow into the next pose. One obvious taiji move was the following :
1. Go into a squat where your thighs are parallel to the floor. ( yes this will build some strength into your quads )
2. Then swing right arm over head and the left up lower as your body move to the left side. repeat for the other side. Do this for a few sets.
Another fun yoga sequence created by Teacher Hee Boon :
1. Go into Garudasana. Stay for several breaths.
2. Slowly unhook your leg ( without touching the floor ) and move the leg to the back. Go into a modified Virabhadrasana 3 or Warrior 3 T-posture with the hand still in entwined.
3. From there, again slowly with control, bend the standing leg and put the back leg down to the floor and heels off. Now you will be in a lunge with the back leg on the floor, heels off. Arms are still entwined and body is upright.
