Here’s a wonderful story that my yogi friend shared with all of us in our facebook community. I think its a reminder to all of us of what yoga is about as well as what life is about. Enjoy and tell me what you think!
This is taken as is from what my friend wrote :
This is really like cheating.
Today class was interesting as the teacher shared his techniques in some of the arm balance asanas like Koundinyasana 1 etc. Arm balancing poses has always been one of the most challenging to most beginners as these require not only some flexibility ( certain poses ), opening of hips or shoulders as well as some strength. Sometimes even people with great strength may not be able to do some of the arm balancing poses! To many, arm balancing poses seemed to require a lot strength in the arms.
I stayed up the entire night to watch this the other night in support of the Singapore team!

It’s amazing how these yogis can do all these… They must be pretty disciplined! Now I am inspired to practice for my Scorpion handstand even more!
The winner of the Men’s team is Dev representing Singapore. He is originally from Indian but he has surely done Singapore proud!

You think how are you moving into the pose, you think this hand in front, this leg is in front, straighten both legs, tuck your tailbone, head look up, hand open bright and straight up. So this is thinkingly doing.

The Chinese New Year is here…
I am not a big fan of Chinese New Year. The crowds, the hum and the buzz, the horrifying scores of people that swarmed the Chinatown, the long neverending queues at the supermarket, most annoying chinese new year music that loops endlessly ( yeah, right after a month’s worth of Christmas music, we get earful of CNY music ) and my most hated activity of all, visiting relatives.
